Intersport Servienetwork Know-How for europe biggest Snow Park
Germany opens Europe’s largest indoor Snow Funpark in Wittenburg
Wittenburg (sgh) – After just eight months of construction period, Europe’s largest Snow Funpark will open in Wittenburg in Northern Germany on 8 December 2006 with a grand opening weekend. The new snow sports hall located seventy kilometres east of Hamburg is the first in the world with an indoor half pipe suitable for competitions.
On a snow covered inside area measuring 30,000 square metres, there are two slopes with a gradient between 10 and 31 percent, a practice slope for
beginners, a fun park for snowboarders as well as
the first roofed half pipe on the planet suitable for competitions. The main slope is 330 metres long and
80 metres wide; with a length of 130 metres, a
width of 20 metres and 4.50 metres high side walls,
the mega pipe meets international competition standards. „When we started building this hall one of our objectives was to attract international events,” says Snow Funpark owner Hans-Gerd Hanel.
“With a large event and restaurant area and our own
hotel sleeping 256 guests we created the obligatory
infrastructure. The Snow Funpark is
much more than a ski hall. It is an event arena.
In the future, we can host anything - seminars and
conferences, product launches, concerts
and, of course, sports events.”
The ultra-modern snow sports hall fulfils highest demands
as it applies only state-of-the-art products ranging from
snow making facilities and
the Doppelmayr chair lift to light engineering. A brand-new
Intersport shop stretches over 2,400 square metres
and offers, apart from up to date rental skis and snowboards,
anything that skiers or snowboarders might wish for.
